Dunch Redefined @Lucca Restaurant

Happy Saturday loves! How has your week been? Mine has been filled with the pressure of beating deadlines and a bunch of after-work activities but I truly can’t complain. I plan on spending my weekend unwinding and celebrating love. 🙂

I went for Dunch at Lucca Restaurant last weekend and it really redefined the idea I had of Dunch. According to the Webster Dictionary, Dunch is supposed to be a light meal between lunch and dinner at around 3-5pm. But that wasn’t what I experienced.

Like in all things they do, Kempinski went all out to provide a unique and quality experience. Their Dunch spread was buffet style but a la carte quality (we all know that buffet food isn’t always the best). They had a wide array of stations; from a soup & bread station to a mezzeh station, to an Italian station, to an Arabic station, to an entire dessert station. They also had a cocktail cart with bottomless cocktails. I had the strawberry and passion mojitos which I occasionally find myself daydreaming about. I wish I could go back, if only for the bottomless mojitos. (hides face)

The soup station had 3 soups to choose from: Roasted Pumpkin Soup, Fresh Mushroom Soup and Tomato Basil Soup. I had the mushroom soup while my date had the pumpkin soup and we both enjoyed it! The bread station had different options of freshly baked breads.

The Italian station was my fave because it was a live cooking station. You had the option of choosing the pasta, sauces, veggies and meat you wanted in your plate and watch them prepare and plate it. I had spaghetti with some tomato sauce, white sauce and salmon. I prefer pizza to pasta any day but I would definitely choose this creamy pasta bowl over magharita pizza! 🙂

I tried out the shawarma from the Arabic station but I was getting super full at this point. And since I didn’t want to be uncomfortably full, I only had the Raspberry Mousse for dessert. I’m a huge mousse and cheese cake fan so I thoroughly enjoyed it! 🙂

If you’d like to try out something different from your usual brunch or treat your loved one this Father’s Day weekend, I would totally recommend that you give Dunch and Lucca a shot. The buffet goes for 4,500 per person and an additional 1,500 for the bottomless cocktails every Saturday from 5-9pm.
