Souvenirs from the Past

Happy hump day loves! How is your week coming along? I was unable to share a post on Monday because life. But hey, here we are. 🙂

I know we all agreed on “new year, same me” in January but we didn’t quite address the fact that there are certain souvenirs that we carry from our past into every season of our lives, yet they only serve as enemies of progress. Some of them are dressed as insecurities, overthinking and fear. Those that we subconsciously claim and accept as part of our being by saying stuff like “that’s just the way I am”.

I was having tea with my partner a few week’s back and as we were talking I said “You know babe, I am such an over-thinker”. And his response to that was, “Don’t you think that by calling yourself an over thinker you continue to speak it and claim it?”

With that, I realised that I still have a lot of unlearning and learning to do. So as part of my self care, I have become consciously aware of the things from my past that I carry forward into my present. I hope that you choose the same. To release what no longer serves you and to only carry with you the souvenirs from your past that bring you peace and make you a better person. Wishing you all a lovely and fulfilling week loves! 🙂
