Nyama Choma Conversations

Hey loves! I hope you are having an amazing start to the week. It is yet another new month leading towards the end of the year. Man has 2016 moved fast!

I spent my weekend with one of my great friends and after a fun-filled day, we decided to go have some nyama choma (grilled meat) at one of his regular joints. I bet majority of you understand the struggle of waiting for hours before your meal finally gets served, especially if it is nyama choma or pork.

Note to self: Call and order your meal well in advance.

This prompted some interesting conversation over sun-downers and I simply could not wait to share part of it here on the blog.

“You may sometimes find yourself in situations where you are working towards a particular goal and praying about it on a daily basis but nothing seems to be working out in your favor, yet the friends that you are working and praying with seem to receive everything that they are hoping for and then some. Such moments can really ruffle up your feathers, much like they would when you walk into a restaurant, order your meal and are subjected to waiting for hours on end while someone who found you there ordered, ate and left you waiting. The real McCoy is, the difference lies in the complexity of your situations. Maybe, just maybe, the other person’s food was much simpler to prepare than yours and if any attempts were made to rush the preparation of your meal, you might have received substandard quality. The moral of the story is, hang in there and be patient because the same God who did it for you before will do it again.”

When everything seems to be going against you, remember that airplanes take off against the wind, not with it!

I hope you all have a productive week and an amazing new month!
